Altar is a genre-critical Hack'n Slash game by Phillip Stern. After offering your soul to a spooky altar you get super human powers and are told to explore the land and kill the people of the "MudMud", not clearly knowing why you would want to do that. While you are slaughtering the narrator is first trying to stop you from doing so, but then after a while gives in to the Hack'n Slash spirit.
